To be a bit more specific, we have a culture where reading a person’s facial expression is equally important as the words they say when interacting with other people so hiding the face creates feelings of suspicion and frustration thats very deeply ingrained in us. It’s like we and our society are being rejected, it creates a resentment that is expressed as “why live in the UK if you aren’t willing to join in?”
